Abstract

For metallurgical and economic computations and process performance control, it is essential to have enough and correct information from different sections, particularly material flow. Typically, owing to economic or technical reasons, it is not possible to measure or sample all existing currents. On the other hand, due to measuring device in plants and/or sampling procedures and analysis, collected data have inevitable errors with them؛ therefore, utilizing  different  methods  of  data reconciliation  under  the  exact  models,  including  mass balance,  and  accessing  to  the  data  is  mandatory.  In  this  paper,  regarding  the  installed measurement system or sampling in the studied mineral processing circuit, results of using basic cycles matrix method for examining the employed measurement system were presented in  terms  of  accessing  to  the  required  information  and  determining  observable  and unobservable  sections of  the  circuit.  Besides, a new method for conducting circuit mass balance in a multivariate state was provided. To validate the suggested method, its application in was discussed in Gole Gohar concentrate desulphurization circuit.  Findings  of  the  study revealed that using this test enjoys high capability in balancing the collected data and because of its  appropriate  construction  in  Matlab  software,  it  is  feasible  to  study  very  complicated circuits.
