Abstract

The mining industry needs to have enough resilience to consolidate the production process against threats and disruptions. The performance of organizations in uncertain environments is threatened due to internal and external disturbances and problems.Organizations must adapt to changes and disruptions in order to survive and maintain competition in uncertain environments. However, identifying the challenges in the real world requires detailed scientific studies. In recent years, despite much research in the field of resilience, there are still ambiguities in the concept, characteristics, and application of resilience, which require more comprehensive research. Therefore, in this research, a systematic literature review has been used to clarify the concept of resilience in the field of mining engineering. This approach identifies, evaluates, and interprets all available research on resilience through distinct steps, including planning, implementation, and reporting. The purpose of this review is to develop a suitable context for presenting resilience strategies and frameworks to better understand the resilience of organizations in the face of global changes and related crises in the field of mining engineering. In this review, out of 792 initially identified research according to the subject of the study, 109 research between 2003 and 2022 have been examined. According to the obtained results, the beginning of the concept of resilience in the organizational field is related to 2003. This concept is generally classified into experimental, quantitative, quasi-quantitative, and qualitative groups. Finally, it should be mentioned that resilience in the mining industry is a multi-dimensional concept. More research in this field is necessary to improve the understanding of resilience and its needs in this industry.
